Google Maps Free Voice Guided Turn by Turn Navigation

  So Google apparently has been working on a new app that uses Google Maps with 3D overlays, wikipedia layers, and has voice guided turn by turn navigation built in. And guess what? It’s free and it’s for Android right now. Now you won’t be able to download it from the Market just yet (so you can put your phone down), but it will come preloaded on the Motorola Sholes (Droid) for Verizon on November 6th. So you better believe there will be a dev who will rip it right off and make it public 🙂 Here’s a video demo:

GSM Motorola Droid Coming Soon?

  So T-Mobile and AT&T users (and our Euro buddies), like the Droid, but don’t like Verizon? Well, there is a video of a GSM version of the Motorola Sholes (Droid) in Vietnam. There is also a rumor that Rogers in Canada might be getting their GSM version as well, now that would mean you could unlock it from Rogers and then use it on AT&T and get 3G (Rogers and AT&T use the same 3G frequencies).
