Touch ID vs Face ID

Face ID vs Touch ID: Which is Faster?

It’s the big debate, isn’t it? With the new iPhone X completely removing the home button and fingerprint sensor in favor of a facial recognition system instead, people are up in arms about TouchID vs FaceID. I’ve been using FaceID for a bit now, and even tested it with my buddy E from BooredAtWork, and I have to admit it works pretty well. But, it got me wondering, how does it actually compare to TouchID in terms of speed? So I’m going to test all the scenarios that use either security feature and let’s see which works faster TouchID on […]

OnePlus 5T vs OnePlus 5: What’s Actually Different? (Video)

OnePlus just announced their latest flagship the OnePlus 5T just 5 months after the OnePlus 5. The big questions for most people then are what are the actual differences between the 5 and 5T? Is it worth getting the OnePlus 5T over the 5? Etc. At the event for the new device recently, I asked around to confirm exactly what the differences are. Here’s what I found. What do you guys think? Is anyone mad about the 5T so quickly after the 5 coming out? Let me know!

Best Rugged Phone Under $300 (Video)

I did a video a while back on the Cat S60. An android phone created with the adventurous in mind (I even ended up taking it to a certain festival in the middle of the Nevada desert to test it out). It was a great phone actually, but the price for it is about $861. So what if you just need a rugged phone but don’t want to empty the piggy bank to buy it. Maybe even be able to keep your normal, more fragile smartphone, and buy another rugged phone to just swap to when you get the urge

Best Sounding Truly Wireless Headphones (Video)

Bose is a name in the audio world that I’m sure I don’t need to introduce. They’ve been around forever and chances are some audiophile you know has at least one pair, even if they’re just the noise canceling ones that you see on every single flight. Thing is they’ve made a ton of wired and wireless headphones, but they’ve never made a truly wireless pair of headphones. Until now. These are the Bose SoundSport Free.   Now, I’ve used plenty of other truly wireless headphones over the last year or two, from the oh-so-popular Air Pods to the IconX’s

TV on Wall

How to Mount a TV (The Easiest Way Possible) (Video)

We’ve all been there. New apt, new house, new TV maybe? The living room is all set, maybe that TV is even on a stand on a media console, but you can’t help but feel like it’d just make the room look so much better if that TV was on the wall. TV’s aren’t light really, they’re expensive, and so they’re a bit daunting to think about attaching with some bits of metal to the wall. On top of that, what mount do you use? How much do they cost? Why are some of them so freaking expensive (are you

Fix i Bug

How to Fix the iOS 11.1 i Glitch (Video)

Figured I’d quickly do a video to show people how to fix the iOS 11.1 i glitch. If you aren’t familiar iOS 11.1 has a pretty nasty glitch that causes autocorrect to turn your lowercase “i” into an A and a Unicode symbol that shows up as a question mark instead of capitalizing it to “I”. Apple has said they’ll fix it with an update but they give a workaround to help in the meantime. Here’s how to do it. Head to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement and tap the plus sign at the top right. In Phrase

Animoji Introduction

How to Use Animoji (Video)

Welp, the iPhone X is finally here and with it, Animojis. These animated emojis (get it??), as annoying as some people find them, are getting a lot of attention. I have to admit, I’ve sent the poop one more times than I probably should have in the short time I’ve had the phone. Regardless, they’re novel and it is pretty impressive how it’s able to track the muscles in your face as well as it does. In case you’re still waiting for your iPhone X though, I figured I’d do a quick rundown of how you can use animojis properly

The RAZER Phone (Video)

If you’ve never heard of Razer, they started out making computer mice purpose built for gamers then transitioned into headsets, gaming laptops, and more. “For Gamers, by Gamers” Sometime in 2011, well before their super-popular Razer Blade, Blade Pro, and Blade Stealth lineups were out, they announced at CES they were working on a prototype call the Switchblade. Min-Liang, the CEO of Razer, grabbed top talent from Apple, HP and Dell to help developer a portable gaming device. The small laptop (essentially) featured the state of the art Intel Atom processor at the time, and a clever keyboard comprised of

Gear IconX Complete Walkthrough (Video)

Along side the Gear Sport, Samsung launched another fitness-minded accessory–the sequel to their original wireless earbuds the Gear IconX 2018 edition. The new earbuds look very much like the old ones and come in pink, black, and gray and come in a matching case. The case itself is how you charge the earbuds and is also a portable battery pack capable of giving the headphones and extra full charge, but the earbuds are now rated to give a much improved 5 hours of playback over Bluetooth versus the 3 hours from last years model. In addition to that, they now

Samsung Gear Sport Complete Walkthrough (Video)

Samsung just launched the new Gear Sport and I got a little hands-on time with it and think I’ve figured it out at this point so here’s my complete walkthrough of the device for anyone curious. The watch is aimed at fitness (hence the Sport) and looks the part fitting somewhere between the bulkier smartwatches I’ve seen but not quite as slim and sleek as the analog watches I’d usually wear out. It comes in two colors, black and blue which are the color of the metal casing, but also the band that comes with the device (but you can

What is Qi Wireless Charging (& Why You Definitely Want It)

So maybe you’ve heard of this Qi wireless charging? The ability to simply set down your phone on a mat of some sort and it just magically charges. It’s been around for a while actually–slowly gaining supported devices. But, now, with the latest iPhones adopting it, in addition to it already being widely adopted by tons of phone manufacturers like Samsung, LG, etc. and other industry giants like Starbucks and IKEA, it’s probably safe to say it’s a good time to get familiar with it. The concept is pretty simple, you plug in a Qi wireless charger and can then

Video: iPad Charger vs Apple’s New Fast Charger (Surprising Results)

So I recently did an experiment comparing the $75 Apple fast charging on the iPhone 8 Plus vs the included charger and while it was faster by a decent amount it’s still $75. A bunch of you in the comments pointed out the old iPad charger truck from the iPhone 6 which is that even back then iPhones had a form of faster charging built in and if you plugged them into an iPad charger they charged faster than normal. So that got me wondering how much faster than the iPad charger is the new iPhone fast charging solution? Let’s

Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro (Video)

In June and July, Huawei, for the first time ever, passed Apple in terms of global smartphone sales share, making them the second largest handset manufacturer in the world (Samsung is number one for those keeping score). Now, these number don’t include the very important Q4 when Apple announces and generally sells the majority of their devices, but regardless, it’s no small feat. The funny thing is, when I tell most people I know about it, they go, “Who’s Huawei?” A lot of the reason for that comes down to the fact that the vast majority of those sales are

Fast Charging iPhone

How Fast is Fast Charging on the New iPhones?

You’ve probably seen the whole debacle about the new iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X support a form of fast charging but Apple doesn’t include the compatible fast charger with the phones and apparently, if you were to buy one that is compatible from Apple, it’d run you about $75 plus tax. The reason for this price is that you need to buy a specific USB-C to lighting cable for $25 ($35 if you want a longer one) and at least the 29W charger, normally meant for a MacBook to be able to deliver the power you need. So it got

Razer Blade Stealth 2017

Razer Blade Stealth 2017 Review: It Finally Deserves Its Name

I reviewed the Razer Blade and its smaller sibling, the Razer Stealth, not too long ago and frankly, I loved them both, albeit in different ways. As someone who edits video in Premiere, the Blade is a compact powerhouse and the Stealth is a super thin ultra-portable that’s made out of premium materials with an attention to detail that only nerdy gaming-obsessed engineers could have put together. If there was one comment I had for Razer at the end of both of those videos, it was that I wished they were just a little less gamer-looking. I don’t game on
