How to Unroot the LG G2 (Telus)

Have you had enough playing with your rooted LG G2 smartphone? Want to unroot it to get the lost warranty back? No worries, this guide should help you do that. While it’s a good idea to keep the device rooted, but there’ll be times when you may want to unroot it due to some reasons. So here’s how you can unroot your LG G2 (Telus) smartphone and get it back to stock:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. Your device should have at least 70% of battery life left.

3. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, download the latest drivers from here.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock ROM (Download link’s available in the first post)

2. Flash Tool (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Unrooting the LG G2 (Telus):

1. Download and place both the files onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Flash Tool archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn OFF your device.

4. While your device’s turned OFF, press and hold the Volume UP+Volume DOWN buttons together and plug your device in to your PC via USB cable.

5. Your device should now be in Download mode.

6. Double-click on UpTestEX.exe available on your Desktop.

7. In the window that opens, choose 3GQCT from the Select Type menu and DIAG from the PhoneMode menu.

8. Hit Select kdz file option and navigate to your Desktop and choose the Stock ROM file you downloaded earlier to your PC.

9. Click Normal web upgrade test button in the tool.

10. Click the Upgrade Start button.

11. Now you’ll be asked some of the questions mentioned below, write down following info into them:

LanguageEnglish

12. Once you’ve filled-in the info, it’ll start flashing the stock ROM on your device.

13. Reboot your device once the ROM has been flashed.

14. And you’re all done!

Excellent! You’ve successfully unrooted your LG G2 on Telus and you’re now back to the stock firmware!
