Best Internal SSD for 4K Video Editing

Best Internal SSDs for 4K Video Editing (Video)

So maybe you’re a video creator and you are building your new editing rig. You have an awesome external SSD for editing your crispy 4K footage, but you aren’t quite sure what’s the best SSD you should put inside your computer that’ll give you the speed you need without costing a crazy amount of money. B&H was kind enough to let me wander their megastore here in NYC to see if I could find the best internal SSDs for editing 4K video and I ended up with four I can easily recommend. For criteria, I used the following to help

Huawei Matebook X Pro

Huawei Matebook X Pro (Complete Walkthrough) (Video)

Today Huawei launched a couple of devices with the most intriguing to me is the sequel to a laptop of theirs that I gave a glowing review to not that long ago: the Matebook X. Well, now we have the Matebook X Pro. And since Huawei was kind enough to give me a very limited time with the device before release, I figured I’d try and do one of my complete walkthroughs. If you aren’t familiar, these are where I go through as many features of the device as I can so you have as much info as possible should

Surface Book 2 on Table-2

Surface Book 2 (COMPLETE WALKTHROUGH) (Video)

I was finally able to get my hands on it, the 15″ top of the line Surface Book 2. I’ve honestly always been a fan of the Surface Book (and frankly Microsoft’s new direction for their hardware) but could never pull the trigger on buying a Book (or any Surface computer really) because they’ve always lacked a powerful enough GPU for me to be able to edit footage on it. But now, with the Surface Book 2 and the NVIDIA GTX 1060 inside the higher end 15″ model, I can finally give it a try. So here is my complete

Razer Blade Stealth 2017

Razer Blade Stealth 2017 Review: It Finally Deserves Its Name

I reviewed the Razer Blade and its smaller sibling, the Razer Stealth, not too long ago and frankly, I loved them both, albeit in different ways. As someone who edits video in Premiere, the Blade is a compact powerhouse and the Stealth is a super thin ultra-portable that’s made out of premium materials with an attention to detail that only nerdy gaming-obsessed engineers could have put together. If there was one comment I had for Razer at the end of both of those videos, it was that I wished they were just a little less gamer-looking. I don’t game on

Samsung Finally Announces the T5 SSD, Their Fastest External SSD To Date

If you’re someone who works with video and need to be mobile, as well, you’ve no doubt heard of Samsung’s T series of SSD external hard-drives. A big favorite among content creators, the Samsung T3 is probably one of the fastest portable SSDs you could get. Transferring footage from your computer to it or vice versa would happen at a crazy 450mb/s. At that speed, I could essentially use it as a scratch drive and edit my 4.6K footage directly on it without having to transfer it off and I wouldn’t expect a single stutter. Turns out, the rumored successor

Huawei Matebook X Review: A Macbook for Windows?

Huawei, a Chinese company that has become more popular here in the States thanks to their flagship spec’ed, yet moderately priced cell phones (they even made the last Nexus device for Google: the 6P), has made it clear that they don’t want to just make phones. Last year they launched their first ever laptop the Huawei Matebook and this year they’ve expanded the Matebook line to the D (their lower-end offering), the E (the successor to the original Matebook 2-in-1) and X (their top of the line model). Which happens to be the one I have here. So, let’s check

HP Laptop on Table

The Best Laptop for Under $200 (& It’s Easily Upgradeable)

Windows laptops have gotten pretty inexpensive over the years. And more importantly, they’re cheap but decent. No longer do you need to choose between a cheap crappy Windows computer or a high-end gaming machine. One such laptop is being hailed around the web as the best laptop for under $200 and it’s called the HP 14-an013nr… yeah, not the best name, but, regardless, here’s why if you only have $200 to spend on a new laptop, why you should probably get this one. The HP 14-an013nr (sigh) is the top contender for a number of reasons: Allied Content: This Video was Sponsored

You might have seen my video on all the changes of the new Surface Pro compared to the Surface Pro 4 that I posted recently while at a Microsoft Surface demo event, or even the post I did as Microsoft announced the new device in China last month but since Microsoft was kind enough to give me a Surface Pro to film I figured I’d do what always is the right thing to do when you get a new piece of tech: an unboxing. Microsoft Surface Pro (2017): What’s Changed?! (Video)

Microsoft invited me by to demo some of the new Surface computers that were announced recently. And while I’ve already done a video on the new Surface Laptop which I sort of love the design of (and you can check out that video here), I haven’t had a chance to check out the new Surface Pro that was announced in China recently. So, I walked up to it and… it looks the same. So what changed besides dropping the number at the end from 5 to just Surface Pro? I asked one of the reps there that exact question and,

Low Power Notification Windows 10

How to Fix the Computer Randomly Dying After Creator Update

Ever since I updated to the new Creator Update on my Windows 10 laptop, I’ll be sitting at a cafe, writing as usual, and then all of a sudden my computer just dies. No warning, just in the middle of a sentence, black screen. After doing a little research it turns out that it’s not an issue with the battery, but it is an issue with something the Creator Update decided to just turn off by default for some dumb reason: the low battery notification. Simply put, when the computer would normally tell me “hey you’ve been here way too

The New Huawei Matebooks

Today seems like a good day for laptop announcements apparently. Alongside Microsoft announcing their new Surface Pro in Shanghai, Huawei just announced their new Huawei Matebook in Berlin. Now, you might remember the name Matebook from last year when Huawei launched a 2-in-1 convertible tablet, and while one of the models they launched today is a successor to that device, two of the others are Huawei showing they want to make legit, serious laptops. The first in the lineup, the aforementioned convertible, is the Matebook E is the successor to the original Matebook and comes with the same leather folio
