3G Revelation!

So I had to post my thoughts on 2 things that has been a big debate for a while now; The “fact” that 3G needs 2 frequencies to operate correctly and the “fact” that European 2100mhz is different that US 2100mhz. I know that challenging this idea is going to get me a lot of emails about how wrong I am but hear me out.. 1. 3G needs 2 frequencies to operate correctly The majority accepted concept is that you need 2 frequencies for 3G to operate on a phone. You need 1 frequency for uploading information to the tower

Rosie Might Be Coming to Current HTC Android Devices!

Yes, that is right. G1 and/or Magic users might be getting an upgrade with the Rosie UI in it (HTC is now calling it Sense UI). The UI is basically what TouchFlo was for Windows Mobile and we love it! People at XDA have been trying to port the UI over to the G1 and Magic for some time now, but it just isn’t quite working as well as hoped (no disrespect to the XDA Devs). But with this new announcement from HTC CEO, Peter Chou, “HTC sense will be available on some other existing devices.” G1 and Magic users

Want to use your G1 to give out a wireless signal so your laptop (or other phones with Wifi) can connect to it and use the 3G internet for FREE? Course you do. First, make sure your G1 is Rooted (search our site for the 1 click rooting method). Then follow these steps. 1. HTC Hero Officially Announced

The new HTC Hero was finally announced (so you G1 users trying to load the leaked Hero ROM onto your G1’s can finally see what it would run like with the beefed up specs the Hero brings to the table). Unlike the Magic, the Hero actually seems to bring something new to the table (besides just losing the keyboard like the Magic did over the G1). It has a nice chunk more RAM (288mb instead of the 192mb the G1 has), a better camera (5.0MP instead of the 3.2MP), and what seems to be the most noticable new feature; the

How To: Save Apps to Your SD Card on the G1 (OBSOLETE)

PLEASE NOTE! This method is obsolete! Please refer to the newer Rooting/Loading Custom ROM methods on our site: Unroot (G1) OR Unroot(MyTouch), then Root, then Load a Custom ROM, Apps2SD/Hero etc. So the G1 (or Android, not sure who to blame really), has an inherent flaw. It’s not that the cute little robot has to get poked like the Pilsbury dough boy for you to first use the phone, it’s the fact that when you save applications from the Market (part of the large appeal of the Android OS), it saves them to the phone’s internal memory instead of the SD card.

T-Mobile’s 3G vs EDGE

We do a quick test of whether an unlocked phone (that can only run T-Mobile’s EDGE) can keep up with T-Mobile 3G on the G1. Guess what? It can… RESULTS: Opera 9.5 on EDGE is only a few seconds slower than the 3G on the G1. SkyFire on EDGE is about the same as 3G on the G1. NIICCEE! Then we test SkyFire browser vs Opera 9.5 on a windows Mobile Device to illustrate how big of a difference your Mobile Browser can make.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G Caught on Camera

T-Mobile’s second Google Android device has been seen in the wild (with T-Mobile branding and all). So we think this little guy is just around the corner. Question is… does anyone care? The phone has identical features to the G1 as far as we can tell, only difference is that the keyboard has been removed and the phone is now a bit more sleek. This will be great for people who don’t mind not having a keyboard and hated the looks of the G1 (can’t blame them too much on the latter, not the prettiest device). But current G1 owners?

Apple Announces New iPhone Dubbed “iPhone 3GS”

Here is a chart from Engadget showing the differences from the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 3GS - Here As far as we can tell, the only added features are: Digital Compass Different backing (“fingerprint resistive”) 3.0MP camera (iPhone 3G had a 2.0MP) The ability

Adobe Announces Flash for Everyone! One of these days…

“Does this phone support Flash?” “Can I goto YouTube without using some YouTube program?” “Does the internet look like it does on my computer?” For most phones the answer to this questions is a resounding “No”. And the reasoning behind the No is the fact that most phones just don’t support Flash. YouTube runs on Flash, most embeded videos, banners, and a lot of games  also run on Flash so without Flash support in the a phone, the phone simply cannot run these things. But there is some hope, Adobe, the makers of Flash, have just announced that they have
