The New Moto Z2 Force: Specs, Pricing, & Availability

Today in NYC, Motorola announced their latest in the Moto Z lineup: the Moto Z2 Force. Successor to the Moto Z Force (duh), their rugged Moto Z (denoted by the Force–think of it like the Active on the Galaxy line of devices), it features their Shattershield 5.5″ AMOLED display, and Moto Mod compatibility (the accessories that snap onto Motorola’s lineup using connector pins on the back). It also has a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GBs of RAM, 64GBs of storage and has a dual camera setup. Those dual cameras are each 12MP f2.0 aperture with one being a monochrome and one […]

LG Tone Studio Session

How Tech is Changing the Music Industry (LG Tone Studio Session with ARIZONA)

LG was kind enough to invite me to a dinner & discussion they were having here in NYC last week. The topic? Tech and its role in music. The people? Oh, just some of LG’s execs, a bunch of tech writers, and the band ARIZONA. No big deal. If you’re not familiar, ARIZONA is the 142nd most streamed artist online, they average about 9 million unique listeners per month, and, oh, this is all in the course of a year–when they launched their debut album before being signed to a record label. Go check out their YouTube, you won’t be disappointed.

How to Hide Instagram Posts

If you were thinking about Spring cleaning your Instagram and getting your feed looking more cohesive (or maybe there’s some questionable photos you don’t want to delete but maybe shouldn’t have let be public) Instagram just launched a new feature to make that a lot easier to do called Archive. Now, most people probably don’t need to do this type of clean up, but I know a lot of marketers/social media managers that actually like to scrub through their Instagram once in a while to remove posts that might have seemed perfect when they posted, but now don’t quite fit

Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensor Tech

Qualcomm Shows Off New Fingerprint Sensor That Works Through Glass, Metal, & Even Underwater

Well, we can all stop wondering if a fingerprint sensor under glass is possible as the rumor for the latest iPhone would suggest. At MWC Shanghai this year, Qualcomm showed off their latest fingerprint sensor technology. The tech uses ultrasonic frequencies to scan through materials and register fingerprints (crazy, right?). Because of this it’ll work through glass, metal, underwater, and can even register heartbeats and swiping gestures. Here’s what Qualcomm had to say in their press release about that technology; Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensor for Display is the mobile industry’s first commercially announced multi-functional ultrasonic solution capable of scanning through OLED

Via Car Service Launches Unlimited Rides in NYC, DC, & Chicago

A friend of mine recently turned me on to a newer car service (been out for a while apparently but just expanded their service area here in NYC) called Via. The idea behind Via is that they essentially work like UberPool: you order a car, share it with other riders, and it picks you up and drops you off within a few blocks of your origin/destination to optimize routes. But, the reason I’m writing about it now is that it just launched something I think is a huge differentiator: unlimited rides. The service itself is already pretty cheap. The reason

Sega’s Turn for Nostalgia: Sega Forever Brings Classic Sega Games to Mobile for Free

Turns out Sonic and his pals want in on the nostalgic action that Nintendo’s been getting recently–albeit in a very different way. No new huge console push, just a free app to play your favorite Sega games on your phone: simple. The app is called Sega Forever and will be available tomorrow with the following 5 titles at launch: Sonic the Hedgehog (duh) Comix Zone Altered Beast Kid Chameleon Phantasy Star II With more games launching every two weeks, it’ll slowly become a nice repository soon enough, I imagine. The app is free to download but will contain ads, but you

Amazon Whole Foods Deal

Amazon Buys Whole Foods for $13.7 Billion (And What Everyone is Saying About It)

In case you missed it, Amazon announced yesterday it planned to buy the popular grocery chain Whole Foods for a cool $13.7 billion and what seemed like a surprise move by the eCommerce giant. So the big question on everyone’s mind is wondering how that helps Amazon in any way. Amazon is an online marketplace for selling (mainly) non-perishable goods through their own clever distribution chain and prices lower than most brick and mortar stores can achieve. With a model like that, why would you ever want to have physical locations and all that added cost? Doesn’t that feel like

Ton of Potential OnePlus 5 Leaked Photos Appear

A serious ton. Not one or two blurry photos, straight up a dozen high res images were leaked today by Case Fanatic, a case manufacturer. As with these usual case leaked photos, take it lightly, but they do seem to match the majority of the other leaks, so maybe? As for the colors, I have to admit, I don’t hate them. How do you guys feel and do we think these are legit? The phone is scheduled to be released on the 20th of this month so, regardless, we’ll find out soon enough.

Andy Rubin, the original founder of Android before Google bought them back in 2001, has been teasing that he’s making an Android phone with his new company Essential for some time now. Today, he finally announced that new phone, and it’s sexy as hell. The phone is a flagship device with specs that definitely match that title. Take a look at the chart below: [table id=4 /] Now, look at the device itself with its almost completely screen front and slick back (that shows no logos, a point they mentioned during their announcement that I appreciate).
