Sony Rachael Gets an Official Name… Xperia X3

So we reported on Sony’s first Android handset, coded named the Rachael, earlier this month. We assumed, due to the lack of any further information, that this sexy new handset was not going to be available for quite a while. Well, turns out that a certain retailer in the UK actually put the device up on their site for pre-order! That leads us to believe that it is actually coming out a lot sooner than we expected. They also gave it a name, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3. The site also confirms the majority of the specs we released in […]

3G Revelation!

So I had to post my thoughts on 2 things that has been a big debate for a while now; The “fact” that 3G needs 2 frequencies to operate correctly and the “fact” that European 2100mhz is different that US 2100mhz. I know that challenging this idea is going to get me a lot of emails about how wrong I am but hear me out.. 1. 3G needs 2 frequencies to operate correctly The majority accepted concept is that you need 2 frequencies for 3G to operate on a phone. You need 1 frequency for uploading information to the tower

Rosie Might Be Coming to Current HTC Android Devices!

Yes, that is right. G1 and/or Magic users might be getting an upgrade with the Rosie UI in it (HTC is now calling it Sense UI). The UI is basically what TouchFlo was for Windows Mobile and we love it! People at XDA have been trying to port the UI over to the G1 and Magic for some time now, but it just isn’t quite working as well as hoped (no disrespect to the XDA Devs). But with this new announcement from HTC CEO, Peter Chou, “HTC sense will be available on some other existing devices.” G1 and Magic users

HTC Hero Officially Announced

The new HTC Hero was finally announced (so you G1 users trying to load the leaked Hero ROM onto your G1’s can finally see what it would run like with the beefed up specs the Hero brings to the table). Unlike the Magic, the Hero actually seems to bring something new to the table (besides just losing the keyboard like the Magic did over the G1). It has a nice chunk more RAM (288mb instead of the 192mb the G1 has), a better camera (5.0MP instead of the 3.2MP), and what seems to be the most noticable new feature; the

How To: Save Apps to Your SD Card on the G1 (OBSOLETE)

PLEASE NOTE! This method is obsolete! Please refer to the newer Rooting/Loading Custom ROM methods on our site: Unroot (G1) OR Unroot(MyTouch), then Root, then Load a Custom ROM, Apps2SD/Hero etc. So the G1 (or Android, not sure who to blame really), has an inherent flaw. It’s not that the cute little robot has to get poked like the Pilsbury dough boy for you to first use the phone, it’s the fact that when you save applications from the Market (part of the large appeal of the Android OS), it saves them to the phone’s internal memory instead of the SD card.
