(This is a biggy 🙂 And better 3G connectivity (thank goodness) Head over to the report site for more information: Source PS: FOR THOSE WITH A ROOTED NEXUS, you might want to not get the OTA and just wait for the OTA to be incorporated into a custom ROM (in all likelihood it […]

Windows Mobile 7 Running Zune Software and Sport Tegra Chip, Confirmed for MWC?

Seems like it, according to Gizmodo. The Gizmodo writer says that his old editor who works at MuyComputer.com (someone he trusts), has divulged that the Zune-like Windows Mobile 7 phone(s) will 100% confirmed be launched at MWC. Another thing he has confirmed is that it will sport the NVIDIA Tegra (monster chipset FYI) and have a 480 x 272 touchscreen, HDMI video out, and weigh just 2.46 ounces (for comparison, an iPhone 3GS weighs 4.76 with a similar net pixel count screen). Curiouser and curiouser.

Motorola Shadow Pics and Specs (Is this the Nexus 2?)

Here are the pics floating around the internet: So the rumor is that this could also be the Nexus Two (or whatever they will call it). Judging by the specs, it sure could be but time will tell. Samsung Galaxy 2 Leak

So when will more snapdragon phones come out you ask? Well, seems Samsung is about to join the ranks. The Samsung Galaxy 2 had some photos leak onto the internet recently and it’s specs as well: 1GHz Snapdragon 3.7 inch AMOLED Capacitive Screen 5 MP Camera 32GB of Internal Memory Android 2.1 3.5MM Jack GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth So do the specs remind you of another phone out already, ehem Nexus? I’m curious as to why these companies like to bring out the same devices with different bodies. But hey one thing people can hope for is different 3G bands, perhaps

Mozilla Firefox Fennec coming to Android in February?

Ok, so if it is one thing I miss from the Nokia N900 that my Nexus One doesn’t have (or any other phone for that matter) is a good desktop-like browser. The browser on the N900 is hands down the best I’ve used on a mobile device (but I won’t get into that right now), and things like Flash, plug-ins, and some form of an one screen mouse (for those flash games/sites that require a mouse for hovering to bring up controls) are things I find myself missing on a daily basis using other browsers. Well, the makers of the

Motorola Confirms Their Google Direct-to-Consumer Phone

Motorola’s co-CEO Sanjay Jha confirmed that they will be making at least one Android phone for Google to sell at Google.com/phone. He did not deny or confirm whether the name Nexus would be used on the new device but the rumors right now are that the next phone to hit Google’s phone page is another Nexus but with a keyboard etc. so it is possible that this could be the device, but no way to know for sure at the moment.

Motorola MOTOSPLIT Coming?

According to sources at Engadget, they were sent a rendering of a new handset dubbed the Motorola Motosplit. This is supposedly an Android device with a Snapdragon processor and a very rare body style. The phone will open similar to some old Nokias I remember, and will have two flaps each containing half of the keypad open like French doors over the front of the phone (and covering the touchscreen perhaps). Take a look at the render: So anyone like the strange body style? Something different I guess right? Source

Soda Powered Phone… Seriously

Running out of power on your phone and no charger nearby? Well, so long as you can get to a vending machine or convenience store, not a problem. Daizi Zheng, has designed a prototype of a phone that runs on a bio battery for Nokia. Essentially the battery can take any carbohydrates and using enzymes could convert the carbohydrates into electricity (kinda like how our bodies can, creepy right?). So he demonstrates this concept by pouring a sugary soda into the phone and viola, power. Not sure how practical a sugar powered phone might be, BUT I do see a

HTC Bravo Heading to T-Mobile UK

The HTC Bravo, which is basically the Nexus One with multitouch, HTC’s Sense UI, and an optical trackpad instead of trackball, is confirmed to be heading to T-Mobile UK in mid-March (round the same time as 3 Sweden is getting it). So seems the Bravo launches continue… no US release info (if there even will be any). So how many people think we’ll see it stateside around March as well?

Nexus One Simple 3G Fix?

So apparently the issue that some Nexus One’s have been having with staying on 3G can be easily fixed.  LKontheRun discovered that if he went into Menu > Settings > Wireless & Network Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > waited for it to scan > then selected Select Automatically that his phone had 3G reception where it used to have EDGE. So while Google still hasn’t responded to any of this or come out with their own update, feel free to give this a try and let us know if it worked.

Windows Mobile 7 Info

So some serious Windows Mobile 7 news was reported by WMExperts today. They are saying that have intel on two new Windows Mobile 7 phones due out this year and some of the concepts behind Windows Mobile 7 as well. Curious? Me too. First it seems that Windows Mobile 7 will have to versions; Business and Media edition. The first will be a more basic version of the OS meant for other companies to put their own UIs on top of (HTC Sense anyone?) and has slightly lower minimum specs required. The second is based around media (duh) and has
