Surface Pro Unboxing

New Surface Pro, Signature Type Cover, & Surface Pen Unboxing & Specs

You might have seen my video on all the changes of the new Surface Pro compared to the Surface Pro 4 that I posted recently while at a Microsoft Surface demo event, or even the post I did as Microsoft announced the new device in China last month but since Microsoft was kind enough to give me a Surface Pro to film I figured I’d do what always is the right thing to do when you get a new piece of tech: an unboxing. [table id=7 /] Let me know what you guys think below and if you want me […]

Close Up on Headphones in Hand

VI Headset: First Ever Bluetooth Headset with AI Run Coaching (Video)

I’m not a runner. I wish I was, though. I live in a part of NYC that has a beautiful park along the river that is pretty much the perfect spot for running, but I’m just not good at running. Like at all. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve gone for a run and the treadmill is basically my idea of torture. So when LifeBeam reached out and told me they might have a gadget that could help, with a deep sigh at the upcoming anguish I was about to endure, I said sure. Sign

Microsoft Surface Pro (2017): What’s Changed?! (Video)

Microsoft invited me by to demo some of the new Surface computers that were announced recently. And while I’ve already done a video on the new Surface Laptop which I sort of love the design of (and you can check out that video here), I haven’t had a chance to check out the new Surface Pro that was announced in China recently. So, I walked up to it and… it looks the same. So what changed besides dropping the number at the end from 5 to just Surface Pro? I asked one of the reps there that exact question and,

Mac High Sierra

How to Get High Sierra Right Now (No Developer Account Required)

For the impatient, did a video on how to get iOS 11 Beta right now and so I figured I’d do a video on getting Mac High Sierra beta as well. Here’s how to get the latest High Sierra beta on your Mac without needing a developer account (cause who wants to pay $99 when we just want to play with the new software, no?). Create a Time Machine Backup Before we do any of this, make sure to create a backup by going to System Preferences > Time Machine and having it create a backup (either to your own

Thanks to the way Apple changed the way iOS betas are provisioned, it’s easier than ever to try out an iOS beta. You simply download the device profile and then go to System Updates like normal and it’ll let you update to the beta. Here’s how to get the iOS 11 Beta right now. Please keep in mind this is a beta and so there will be bugs. You can, however, easily go back to iOS 10 by deleting the profile from the phone and “updating” in iTunes back down to your original iOS version. Ready to try iOS 11,

Most Live TV Channels

How to Get the Most Live TV Online for the Least Money

I did a video on watching TV without cable a while back, but since then, there’s been a lot more options to come out–and frankly, much better ones. Competition has begun in the online live TV space and, as is the one nice thing about competition, that means their prices and offerings are getting better and better. Because of all this lowering of prices and healthy competition, I wanted to see something. I was curious what is the most channels you could get for the least amount of money. Pick a Streaming Service [table id=2 /] Hulu w/ Live Beta Hulu just

Surface Pro on Table

The New Surface Pro, Surface Pen, and Type Cover

The new Surface Pro was announced today by Microsoft in Shanghai today. Expected to be the Surface Pro 5, Microsoft has switched things up (and simplified things, I think) by just calling it the Surface Pro. Period. New Surface Pro Specs The new device is very similar to the Pro 4 in terms of looks and form factor. We have the same detachable design, screen size, resolution, and even weight and size (for the most part). The only real noticeable difference looks-wise is that the corners are a bit rounder on the new Pro and if you have the kickstand

Qi Chargers

7 Best Qi Wireless Chargers

So many phones are now coming with wireless charging. On top of this, it’s pretty clear which wireless standard is going to be the main one from now on: Qi wireless charging. So that means that now might be a good time to get on the wireless charging train for your Qi-enabled phone. Question is what’s the best wireless charger? From ones that look great, to ones that are portable (set your phone down on this stone-like charger to have it charge is a cool feature, no?), to ones that can swivel to hold the phone upright, there are a lot

LG Tone Studio Standing Up

LG Tone Studio: Awesome Surround Sound without All the Speakers

When I was in Barcelona this year at the LG booth, a rep for LG told me he had something he wanted me to see. We walked into a glass room with a racing game playing on a wall-mounted TV and a horseshoe-shaped gadget resting carefully underneath. He told me to put the device around my neck and handed me a controller. I un-paused the game and began to try to drive around in the game. He was right, he needed to show me this. At one point, I looked up at the corner of the room expecting to see a speaker

S8 Stock Android

How to Make Your Samsung Galaxy S8 Look Like Stock Android (Video)

It’s getting harder and harder to root the more popular Android devices. I personally love rooting my phone and removing whatever crap bloatware the carrier or manufacturer put on their as well as flashing a custom ROM to get a stock version of Android that is way snappier and, frankly, better looking in most cases. But, since that’s not quite an option for the S8 (and frankly, Samsung has dialed down the S8’s TouchWiz to a point I don’t mind it as much as usual, but you can read about that in my review), we have to resort to methods

Refurbished Galaxy Note 7’s To Cost 50% Off The Original Price?

Samsung has already confirmed they are trying to “recycle” (aka salvage losses) the large stock pile of Galaxy Note 7’s they have sitting around after last year’s recall. Well now, “industry insiders” are claiming that the device, possible named the Galaxy Note 7R, will cost as little as $440. Or should I say, KRW500,000 since Samsung also mentioned they won’t be selling them in the US in the original report. Regardless though, that’s about half of what they cost when they were initially launched and the only reported difference will be a smaller 3200mah battery instead of the 3500mah in

Microsoft Fluent Design

Microsoft Has a New Design Coming and It’s Real Pretty

Microsoft held their annual developer conference this week called Build where they showcase their latest coming features to Windows and other products and new ways developers can make apps, etc. But this time they showed something that I think might be of interest to anyone interested in Windows: a new design overhaul. Check out the video below for a glimpse at their new Fluent Design System. Am I the only one that thinks it looks awesome? Microsoft has always been the one pushing the flat design for a while now, but to now see them fully embrace this material/flat look

Your Phone’s Mic Could Be Used to Listen for TV Commercials

Back in 2015, a company called SilverPush ended up abandoning a technology that they had created that allowed app developers to use the microphone of a phone to listen for high-frequencies sounds within television advertisements to determine if a user ever watched said television ad. The idea being that one could then serve that user ads for the product from that show later on in the same type of retargeting that I’m sure we’re all used to seeing from Google and Facebook, etc. (You know, when you go to look for a product and then leave the site only to
