HTC has announced the a “US Carrier” is picking up the Touch HD2 (Leo) in early 2010. In the meantime, you could always buy the European Version and just not have 3G.. as with any GSM phone. Sadly I can already assume that by the time the HD2 “comes to the States” there will be a new, better HTC phone to drool over. Why can’t they just put Pentaband 3G in all of their phones and let us by them directly??

So as I thought, all those rumors about the Touch HD2 being Android were not entirely incorrect (well the HD2 was NOT Android as we know, but there is a reason why that rumor got started). Developers have leaked screenshots of a new HTC phone nicknamed the Dragon for now. It supposedly has a 1GHz processor(a snapdragon most likely, hence the nickname), a capacitive screen, and 800×480 resolution. Oh an it’s running Android with HTC Sense on top (most likely). That’s right, T-Mobile has come out with a successor to the Samsung Behold, but want to know the best new feature? They replaced the OS with Android lol So this now makes the 3rd T-Mobile Android device to be announced. The specs are not much different to the MyTouch except a nicer screen (3.2 AMOLED Capacitive screen), and a nice camera (5.0MP with flash). I know what all the current Android users are wondering; How much RAM? and Can it run Hero better than my MyTouch/G1? Well, no word on RAM yet, but this is supposed to be the US

So T-Mobile has had the Pro2 for a bit now, but finally AT&T has picked up the device and also the keyboard-less counterpart the Diamond2. They will be called the Tilt2 (Pro2) and the Pure (Diamond2) and while the Pro2 is still HTC’s best keyboarded Windows Mobile device out, the Diamond2 might be a little too late for people who don’t need the keyboard so much. According to the HTC site, they are now promoting an HTC Magic (the model with 288MBs not 192MBs like the MyTouch unfortunately) with HTC Sense (AKA Rosie, AKA Hero UI) on it direct from HTC. This is good news for all HTC Magic users with 288MBs of RAM, soon as someone uploads it, it should be easy to port it to any other Magic with 288Mbs of RAM. For those with 192Mb HTC Magics (including the MyTouch) this COULD be good news as well as it is another ROM to dissect and then convert to put on the 192Mbs Magics…

There is a rumor that the new 4.3″ capacitive screen, 1GHz processor Windows Mobile 6.5 phone, the HTC Leo aka HTC Touch HD2 will be released on O2 in the UK on the 12th of October. There is also another rumor that it will be released in the Netherlands around the same time, which would help confirm the first rumor. Anyone UK readers getting it? And any US readers excited about importing one here to the States? 🙂

These devices will be released all over the world by AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone, NTT DoCoMO, Softbank Mobile,  SKT, Telstra and Telus just to name a few… So keep your eyes open Windows Mobile fans 🙂
