LG Optimus 2x ready to hit UK in March

It’s not official yet but so say the major retailers in the land of the Queen.  Earlier rumors pointed to a release this month in the European continent but as Expansys has put up on its site, the date now seems to be pushed a further two months, at least in the UK, to March 21.  Further validating the fact is yet another online UK tech dealer Carphone Warehouse, which pegs it with a vague “March 2011” as the release date. As for the asking price, Expansys demands a hefty £499.99 for the “superphone” while Carphone Warehouse seems noncomittal as […]

Notion Ink Adam delayed yet again due to FCC holdup

If the videos on the company’s blog and its demo at the CES are anything to go by, the Adam has the potential to be a great tablet, but it seems that customers who have preordered it here in the US will have to wait a bit more to get their hands on the device, according to AndroidPolice.  The Android device has taken a long time already to actually make an appearance, raking up suspicions of vaporware, and now it is yet again delayed, thanks to a snag with its FCC approval.  While other non-US and non-European customers have already

Video: Google showcases Android 3.0 operating system

Google posted the above promo for the CES before hastily hiding it, but not before a few viewers downloaded it and upped it again to YouTube.  Looking at the video, Google has definitely put in a lot of work to bring out a likeable OS that is both fast and good on the eyes.  Slightly reminiscent of the Tron: Legacy, the minimalistic approach to things that Google loves so much is all there and so are the improvements to many integrated apps like the GMail client with a better layout or the updated YouTube client.  The Google Books apps

Motorola Milestone 2.2 Froyo update delayed yet again

We are in the age of the Gingerbread but for Milestone users, it is yet another period of wallowing in the ancient pits of Android 2.1 Eclair, thanks to Motorola’s hesitancy to push out the update already.  The company has recently made a Facebook post saying that they will “continue to work closely” on the 2.2 update which is now tentatively scheduled for a 2011 Q1 release.  As if this isn’t irksome enough, the company has also announced on its support forum that the Android 2.2 update for the Motorola Defy has been delayed to the second quarter of 2011,
