We have got some happy news to share with our Nexus One/S readers.  Over the coming weeks, Google is rolling out the 2.3.3 update (Gingerbread, again) and Nexus S users will now be able to not only read tags but also write them – the device will also have the ability to act as a tag in itself.  It will also endow the Nexus S with basic peer-to-peer NFC communication.  The update might fix the random reboot and signal loss bugs which is yet to be confirmed, as the version notes fail to make a mention of this particular problem. Motorola XOOM heads to the UK via various retailers

Short of shoving it down everybody’s throats, Motorola seems to be making every effort to hawk its first ever Android tablet, the XOOM, in the United Kingdom.  The company has tied up with various retailers to attain maximal sales and the usual suspects like Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy also figure in the list.  Apart from the two, Motorola has also roped in PC World, Dixons and Curry, while another UK online retailer, Handtec, is already taking preorders for the device with a hefty price tag, which stands at £720 currently (we are assuming for the version with both 3G

MWC 2011: LG Optimus 3D demoed

MWC 2011: HTC announces the Salsa and the ChaCha, upgrades three other Android smartphones

With five Android smartphones and a tablet revealed at the Mobile World Congress, the Taiwanese manufacturer has really outdone itself this year. ViewSonic dual-SIM, dual-boot Android phone/tablet announced

HTC Revolver with Honeycomb in the works?

Google may have said Honeycomb is tailormade for tablets and tablets only, but if a recent tipster to Engadget is to be believed, this version of the operating system might make its mark on smartphones too.  The tipster has a sent a picture showing off the purported device with a solid spec sheet.  According to the pic, the Revolver will feature an unspecified 1.2GHz dual-core processor, HSPA+ support, 16GB of onboard space with the option to further upgrade if needed and 1GB of RAM to keep things smooth.  Also included is a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with a 3mpx lens on

Radio Shack reveals Samsung Galaxy S 4G pricing

T-Mobile itself is yet to reveal the pricing on its upcoming LTE-capable Galaxy S 4G but that hasn’t stopped retailers from announcing their price tags.  After the Wal-Mart price leak recently, Tmo News has now unearthed an ad from Radio Shack revealing the price as $149.99,  a mere $1.11 more than that offered by Wal-Mart.  We are yet to see T-Mobile’s take on this detail but with an announced February release, we should be hearing from them pretty soon. Palm Pre2 up for preorder on Verizon tomorrow

It’s choices galore this time around on Verizon and with the addition of the Palm Pre 2 to its inventory, the wireless carrier now has a chunk of HP WebOS 2.0 to offer too.  Starting tomorrow, Verizon customers can preorder the Palm Pre2, a device which is scheduled to go on sale from February 13th.  The device will start shipping on February 17th and the rumored going price is $99.99. Samsung to release two more Galaxy phones for the German market

HTC Thunderbolt ready for a release soon?
