HTC Sensation might launch on June 8th

The device was unveiled in all its glory last week but as always, HTC and T-Mobile failed to announce a proper release date for the beefy Sensation.  Which leaves us to nitpick every minute detail that is available on it right now.  TMo News was apparently thinking along the same lines when it did a simple search on “HTC Sensation” and guess what popped up – a Google Adword ad stating the release date as 8th June (Google has now changed it “Coming Soon”).  Solidifying this little detail furthermore is the product mockup on the Sensation’s showcase webpage, which shows […]

Samsung Galaxy S Gingerbread update halted for Vodafone users

For no apparent reason, Google has decided to pull the plug on the Gingerbread rollout which started yesterday for the Samsung Galaxy S, and Vodafone UK users who haven’t updated already will no longer find it waiting on Kies.  The decision seems to have been made solely by Google, as Vodafone UK denies any performance issues.  The news was posted on the carrier’s support forums and further states that it will work with Samsung to rectify the situation as soon as possible and get the Android 2.3 update rolling out again. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted further as

T-Mobile G-Slate to arrive on April 20 for $529.99

T-Mobile has today announced a date and a price for the 3D-enabled LG tablet, the G-Slate.  The company has revealed on its blog recently that the G-Slate will be available beginning tomorrow, April 20th, and will run interested T-Mo customers up to $529.99 (just as we reported at the beginning of this month).  The price is after a $100 mail-in rebate and there is a two-year lockdown clause to agree to. Compared to the $729.99 iPad2 and the $599.99 Motorola Xoom, the G-Slate seems to be sensibly priced, especially considering the features that it comes with against the competition.  If

AT&T Windows Phone 7 devices finally deemed ready for NoDo update

While the update was rolled out last month for the rest of the world, AT&T customers were left high and dry with no news on when the NoDo will land on their WP7 devices.   The carrier seems to have decided that the time now is right enough and has started releasing the update to its WP7 devices slowly.  Soon, AT&T users with the Samsung Focus, HTC Surround, and the LG Quantum will be able to copy/paste on their mobile like the rest of the world and have a few other tweaks that were overlooked when the WP7 was originally released.

HTC Pyramid ROM with new Sense 3.0 out now

The ROM for HTC Pyramid aka the Sensation has wormed its way on to the net and with it comes HTC’s latest Android UI skin, Sense 3.0.  The Android 2.3 ROM is the Asian version for the upcoming device and with no actual Sensation around, there’s not much use it could be put to right now, but of course, it’s only a matter of time before some of our enterprising devs find a way to port that gorgeous and spanking new Sense UI to older Android devices. For now, the dump has yielded a few nice wallpapers which can be

Motorola Droid Pro’s OS gets updated

It’s no Gingerbread, but it does does bring a few minor improvements to the QWERTY-toting Motorola Droid Pro on Verizon.  Weighing in at 43.8MB, the update (ver. 3.8.7.XT610) brings much better syncing, preloaded Verizon VCAST  apps, WiFi access to external corporate networks, and other fixes on the MotoBLUR side of things. As for the Droid Pro getting updated to Gingerbread, word is that Verizon was pondering over the idea around December last year along with other devices on its network, but almost four months down the line now, nothing further has been revealed. Rumor: Motorola readying a rugged tablet?

The idea of a rugged tablet is laudable and we could think of many situations where such a device would be a boon.  Motorola, according to the latest rumors, is working on just the kind of device and marrying the processing power of the Xoom and the immunity to withstand the rigors of nature as well as harsh human treatment seems like a great idea.  And with the sturdy Defy under its belt, Motorola is definitely equipped to apply the same (if not better) principles to the rumored tablet. Apparently, the damage-proof device will feature a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB

Samsung reveals the Bada OS 2.0 and its future

Samsung’s handsets with Bada OS don’t make as big a splash as their Android/WP7 counterparts, but the operating system is definitely not something to be pushed to the back.  The platform currently comprises about 20.1% market share with Apple’s iOS sitting above it snugly with 20.5% while Android rules them all with a heavy 31.3%.  The numbers haven’t gone unnoticed by the Korean giant and sure enough, is making further plans to milk this cash cow.  The Bada ecosystem currently has a few thousand apps to its name, but Samsung promises to remedy that with the addition of more than
