German website Golem was able to snag a close up shot of Sony’s S1 honeycomb tablet at an event in Munich. Even though it’s only one image, it appears to be the best one floating around. Golem was also able to grab an 18 second video of the elusive dual screen S2. Source

Currently a HTML web app is acting as a temporary place holder for Google+ users on iOS. Android is one step ahead by already having a native Google+ app approved and ready.Meanwhile, the native iOS app is still pending approval from Apple. In the interim, iOS users can still utilize Google+ by opening plus.google.com in mobile Safari. The page allows users to enjoy the basic Google+ functions. HP hopes to reward existing Palm Pre, Pre Plus, Pixi, or Pixi Plus smartphone users with an added incentive to purchase a HP 32GB TouchPad. HP is offering a $50 mail in rebate if consumers can prove they own one of the above mentioned smartphones. Pre-orders are now available for Verizon’s LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1. Both the 16GB and 32GB versions of the tab are available in either black or white. Prices start at $630 for the 16GB and $730 for the 32GB without a contract. Signing up for a two year data contract will reduce the corresponding prices by $100. Verizon estimates the shipping time frame to be four to six weeks. The LTE tab is almost identical to the Wi-Fi device with the exclusion of the cellular access which Verizon estimates at 5-12Mbps downstream and 2-5Mbps upstream in real-world conditions. T-Mobile Nexus S users were especially excited to update to Android 2.3.4 just for the ability to use Google Talk video chat. Better yet, T-Mobile promised the video chat service to be enabled over both 3G and Wi-Fi networks. Unfortunately, many users quickly realized video calls were not able to be placed while on Wi-Fi, limiting users only to 3G. Many Motorola Droid 2, Droid 2 Global, and DroidX2 users have been patiently waiting for the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update to arrive. However, sources at Droid-Life claim that Verizon has rejected all Android 2.3 updates from Motorola after a list of bugs surfaced from the DroidX’s 2.3 update. Reported issues include lag time, re-booting, and a short battery life. Inside sources at Motorola claim update teams have been assembled to start resolving the issues. An image of a new Android powered Motorola handset for Sprint has allegedly been leaked. From what we can see from the blurry shot, the device has a full QWERTY keyboard and a curved body that closely resembles a Blackberry versus any current Android device on the market. Christmas may come early this year for iPhone enthusiasts, as a new report points production for the iPhone 5 to begin in middle to late August. The August production timeline suggests a device launch targeted near the second half of September or even later. Despite being satisfied with HTC Thunderbolt’s software, users have been less than thrilled with its battery life. The device noted for its low battery life has had users chained to their charger with only an extended battery pack as a charging alternative.  For users opting not to carry around the cumbersome extended battery pack, many were left waiting for the wireless charging battery cover. Droid Life reports the wait is over as the battery cover has been spotted in Verizon retail stores. The infamous jailbreaking hacker, George Hotz aka ‘GeoHot’ has an alleged new profession, working for Facebook. Hotz first made waves with his jailbreaks relating to iOS devices and Sony Playstation devices only to reappear recently in the press from a recent Facebook status, “Facebook is really an amazing place to work… first hackathon over.” Hotz’s speculated employment comes on the tails of Facebook confirming an all time record high of 750 million users worldwide.
