Apple has just released iOS 7 beta 2, the second developer build of its brand new mobile operating system. The tech giant unveiled iOS 7 in early June during its WWDC 2013 keynote and showed off the software’s immense promise. Starting this Wednesday (June 26), fans of the stock experience will rejoice as Google has teamed up with Samsung and HTC to offer up both of their 2013 flagship smartphones as “Nexus experience” devices that run stock Android. It’s not everyday we see a big retailer slash the prices on popular smartphone hardware permanently. Sure, we see the occasional limited time only promo, but Walmart plans to change all of that. From now on you can purchase the 16GB iPhone 4S in its AT&T, Sprint or Verizon variant at $39 on contract, instead of $90. The 16GB iPhone 5 is also now $129 from its usual $190. It’s that time again as LG has sent out a new save the date invitation for a mobile event slated for August 7 in New York City. LG has decided to coin this press gathering an “international media event,” which gives it a larger feel than just your average U.S. announcement. According to a Bloomberg report, HTC will be recruiting none other than Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. in a $12 million marketing campaign. The prepaid carrier has just confirmed plans to bring Apple’s iPhone 5 to its device lineup starting Friday, June 28th. Samsung finally unveiled their new Android powered mirrorless camera: the Galaxy NX. Samsung is calling this camera an interchangeable lens CSC, or Compact System Camera, and doesn’t want you to get it confused with any other point and shoot device out on the market now. The Galaxy NX boasts a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor in addition to 3G / 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, which definitely gives it the right to sport the Galaxy name. Great news for mobile gamers, as the NVIDIA Shield has already been reduced $50 from its original price tag. That small Android portable gaming console will now cost users $300 instead of $350 when it hits retail shelves on June 27th. NVIDIA explained the new, lower price and release date in a blog post today which credited gamers who asked for a lower price point.
