‘Women Only’ Handset HTC Bliss Makes A Cameo At The FCC

HTC’s rumored ‘women only’ Bliss handset made a debut at the FCC this Friday and appears to be headed straight for a spot on Verizon’s lineup. As Verizon seems to be carrying numerous global-capable phones, the HTC Bliss houses CDMA 850MHz / 1900MHz bands, WiFi and Bluetooth, and a GSM 900MHz radio. HTC Announces New Partnership With Beats Electronics, New Line of Smartphones Coming This Fall

HTC Corporation has unveiled a new strategic partnership and investment with Beats Electronics LLC (Beats), known for its Beats by Dr. Dre audio experience. HTC hopes to provide consumers the opprotunity to enjoy an unique audio experience while on their mobile phones. FTC Antitrust Investigators Set The Focus On Google’s Android Operating System

Antitrust investigators with the FTC have settled their focus on key areas of Google’s business sectors including the Android operating system and web search services. The FTC’s concern is that Google might be preventing various smartphone manufacturers that use mobile operating system from using competitors’ services. In addition, the FTC is reportedly investigating whether or not Google grants preferential treatment to its own services over services provided by the competition. T-Mobile To Start Charging Overage Fees On August 14th For 200MB Internet Plans?

Apparently T-Mobile has been inundated with its data demands and may be just a few days away from making a substantial change on its 200MB Internet plans. Currently, if users go over their 200MB they experience painfully slow Internet browsing and download times due to the throttling of broadband speeds. According to TMoNews, throttling will be soon be replaced with usage fees. For each MB used over the 200MB plan 10 cents will be added on to the user’s bill. Who could forget the infamous iPhone 4 prototype that was allegedly lost in a bar in Redwood City, California last year. The man who started it all, Brian Hogan, claimed an Apple engineer was using the iPhone 4 prototype and then accidentally left it at the bar. Consumers Will Not See AT&T’s First LTE Smartphone Until Late 2011

For all of the loyal AT&T users patiently awaiting the carrier’s first LTE smartphone, it appears as if the wait will continue into the end of 2011. As AT&T is just beginning to get its LTE coverage off the ground the company confirmed they will not be offering any LTE smartphones until late 2011. Samsung took the wraps of their new Galaxy Xcover in Germany today. The device is aimed at a demographic of consumers who are tough with their devices but still looking for the perks of the Galaxy lineup.  The Galaxy Xcover is the first Android device to have IP67 certification. According to Korean tech site IT Tong they’ve obtained leaked details surrounding a 4G LTE enabled Samsung Galaxy S II handset. HTC Opens Developer Site: Kernel Source Code, OpenSense SDK, and Bootloader Unlock Tool

HTC’s developer site is officially live and shows promise to be a ‘one stop shop’ for developers as well as a resource center. The site offers a garden variety of SDKs and the manufacturer’s OpenSense SDK. Included in the OpenSense SDK is a S3D SDK for HTC’s 3D stereoscopic interface and pen SDK for its Scribe feature. The highly anticipated unlock bootloader tool shows as ‘coming soon’ but there are numerous kernel source codes, binaries, and materials for HTC Android devices to keep developers busy in the interim. HP TouchPad 4G Now Up For Pre-Order On Amazon

The HP TouchPad 4G with HSPA+ support is now available for pre-order from the wireless retailer Amazon. Amazon doesn’t reveal a specific launch date for the 4G tab but states that it will deliver it when it becomes available. The original 1.2GHz processor TouchPad  was first introduced in July as a Wi-Fi only device. However, AT&T’s version of the device will house a faster 1.5GHz processor, HP’s latest webOS 3.0.2 software, and of course the HSPA+ support.
