T-Mobile has landed its first 4G Blackberry device with the new Blackberry Bold 9900. For anyone looking to get their hands on this one, the device launches today but with a slight catch. While other carriers are throttling their plans or offering capped data plans, MetroPCS is stepping up their unlimited game by partnering up with Rhapsody to add music to the mix. The plan enables MetroPCS users to stream, play, and even download Rhapsody’s tunes without having to pay the music service’s monthly subscription fee. Rhapsody houses an enormous 12 million tune library and is sure to have something in there for everyone. Engadget has received a set of clear photos capturing both the Motorola Droid Bionic and the new Droid HD. Not surprising that the leaked images of the global capable Droid Bionic only confirm speculated specs including, a TI OMAP 44301GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 4.5-inch display, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and microUSB / HDMI ports. If you are the proud owner of an Xperia Play and have an obvious sweet tooth for games, then this is probably a good day to stop by the Android Market to get your Minecraft on. The game that has attracted over 12 million players with over 3 million players who paid for it, is now available for $6.92 or for those short on cash can make do with the free demo. Disappointing news for all of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 users still waiting around to upgrade their slate to TouchWiz UX, as Samsung has put the brakes on the update. Despite no official word from Samsung on why, it appears this is in direct result from recent TouchWiz UX user experiences including lagging graphics and bricked devices. Samsung’s Carla Saavedra tweeted that the update has been “temporarily halted to assess progress & ensure it’s a positive experience for customers” and said regular service would “resume shortly” but “no specifics were given.”  As we never like to hear about bricked devices, let’s hope

According to a leaked screen shot obtained by TMoNews, it pegs a T-Mobile launch date for both the HTC Ruby and Samsung Hercules on October 26th. The October launch coming as a bit of surprise as early rumors had the HTC Ruby launching in September. Currently, device specifics for both handsets remain much a thing of mystery. However, the Samsung Galaxy S II variant, the Hercules is expected to be a serious smartphone with its rumored dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor. Among the usual massive swirl of rumors leading up to a new Apple iPhone release, it appears Engadget may have obtained the first bit of solid news towards a launch date for the iPhone 5. According to a tipster, Telefonica will be pulling back its current iPhone stock now until September 12th. Fusion Garage took the wraps off two new devices today after much speculation and a long running teaser campaign. The company’s director, Chandra Rathakrishnan, personally took stage today at a press event to introduce the new Grid 10 tablet and the Grid 4 smartphone. The Grid 10 tablet will run on the new Grid OS, which is based on the Android kernel. Finally, the long awaited day has arrived as HTC unleashed their bootloader unlock tool out into the wild for the happy masses. Lucky owners of the HTC Sensation (EU) can now work their way towards OEM-sanctioned root access. Google announced today that Motorola Mobility has become its latest acquisition for a staggering $12.5 Billion. Say it isn’t so. It appears that an HTC Holiday prototype surfaced on Craigslist and the owner has plenty of images to prove it. Except for the cracked display, the Craigslist handset does bare a striking resemblance to the HTC Holiday, which first surfaced back in May. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Sprint Network has cancelled its plans to bring WiMAX to the Blackberry PlayBook, leaving Research in Motion to focus on new plans involving LTE instead.
