The Samsung/Apple patent war rages on, but this time the legal battle has made its way to France. The complaint cites that the UMTS technology featured in the iPhone and the 3G iPads are in direct violation of Samsung’s patents. A spokesperson for Samsung explained, This complaint “focuses on three technology patents, and not on the design of the tablets,” unlike the injunction involving the Samsung Galaxy 10.1, which resulted in a nationwide ban of the tablet. AT&T Files Official Court Response to Department of Justice Lawsuit

To say that AT&T is disappointed in the US Department of Justice (DOJ) would be quite the understatement. Ma Bell certainly hasn’t been quiet with their official statements in response to the DOJ’s attempt to block their pending merger with T-Mobile. Statements are one thing, but now AT&T has taken it one step further and submitted a 25 page court document arguing the entire foundation of the DOJ antitrust lawsuit. The document argues that the DOJ’s lawsuit represents a misunderstanding of the market and overlooks competition from other carriers like MetroPCS and US Cellular. It continues to outline T-Mobile’s struggle for years. The document even citing T-Mobile’s despair as their parent

Adobe Finally Brings Flash to iPhone and iPad, No iOS Support Needed

During the IBC show in Amsterdam on Friday, Adobe unveiled their latest Media Server 4.5 and Adobe Flash Access 3.0 products. While that may not sound entirely earth shattering, the most interesting aspect of the technology is how it will benefit iOS users without Apple’s direct approval. The new products will finally allow iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users access to Adobe Flash content, despite Apple having notoriously rejected Adobe Flash content in the past. Instead of waiting for Apple to have a sudden change of heart, Adobe finally created an alternative solution. The new products don’t require iOS support for the technology to still

Now users can simply head on over to the Android market to get the updated app without any fuss. Source

Roll Out the Red Carpet, HTC to Host a ‘Celebrate in Style’ Event September 20th

We’re dusting off our most sophisticated formal wear and marking our calendars for September 20th as HTC began formally inviting the media to come ‘celebrate in style’ with them. Also expected to appear sometime before the holiday shopping season is, you guessed it, the HTC Holiday. Recently spotted in the wild, and hard to forget, is the

Sprint Rumored to Maintain Unlimited Data Plans for iPhone 5 Launch

Ever since  AT&T and Verizon moved away from unlimited data plans and switched over to tiered data, it left a small window of opprotunity for some of the smaller carriers to stand out. Sprint, the nation’s third largest carrier, is still widely viewed as an underdog in the wireless carrier industry. The Now Network is hoping to find that competitve edge with those consumers who are still desiring the flexibility that a true unlimited data plan can offer. According to Bloomberg sources, Sprint is not only expected to get the iPhone 5 within the next month, but will retain their unlimited data plans as an attractive incentive to choose

Apple Wins Nationwide Ban On Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany

In a ruling issued today, a Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court has upheld last month’s preliminary injunction, banning the complete sale of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 due to Apple iPad 2 patent infringement. The German court believed the nationwide ban was merited due to the Samsung Tab’s “minimalist and modern design” bearing a strong resemblance to the iPad 2. The Judge who presided over the case explained, “The court is of the opinion that Apple’s minimalistic design isn’t the only technical solution to make a tablet computer,” Judge Brueckner–Hoffmann explained, “other designs are possible.” Samsung is extremely upset with the German court ruling and plans to
