Verizon Quietly Turns on 3G Data Throttling

Verizon switched on its 3G throttling as promised and announced it in a rather low-key fashion through an updated policy page on Thursday. The top five percent of 3G unlimited data subscribers will experience slower connections when on significantly congested cell sites both for what’s left of their billing period and for the following billing period. Anyone on a 4G or tiered data plan can rest assured they won’t see the effects of throttled data, for now. Verizon is quick to point out that its data throttling policy seems relaxed compared to other carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile. For example, AT&T plans to […]

Nokia 700 and 701 Now Shipping to Retailers, New Symbian Belle Becomes a Closer Reality

Confirmed in a tweet by Nokia, the company will be shipping two of the three Symbian Belle handsets to retailers as promised. The tweet doesn’t give up any juicy launch specifics, but it does give us hope that at least two of the anticipated handsets are coming soon. Now we’ll just have to sit tight and wait for the retailers to take it from here. Source

Apple Asks Court to Place Motorola Mobility Patent Lawsuits on Hold Until Google Acquisition is Complete

Apple recently asked the court to press the pause button on their current patent lawsuits against Motorola Mobility. As it stands today, the Cupertino based tech giant is involved in 21 patent suits with Motorola Mobility. Apple is asserting 15 patent claims and Motorola Mobility is asserting 6 of their own. Apple’s main concern is that once the Google acquisition becomes final, the results (good or bad) of the potential court hearings would then become
