T-Mobile Joins ‘Team Samsung’ in Fight Against Apple, Submits Filing in Support of Samsung

In the seemingly never ending patent dispute between Samsung and Apple, it appears as though Samsung has found new support in the form of T-Mobile. According to a Reuters report today, T-Mobile has not only sided with Samsung in the lawsuit, but submitted a court filing explaining that a sales ban on certain Samsung products would “unnecessarily harm” the carrier and its customers. The filing continues to plea that “at this late date, T-Mobile could not find comparable replacement products for the 2011 holiday season.” The magenta carrier also mentions that its ads “prominently feature” some of the Samsung products in question, and that those investments “cannot be recouped

Skype 2.5 for Android Now Supports 14 Additional Devices, Enhances User Experience

With the latest update to Skype, the popular video-calling service now supports a total of 41 Android devices. 14 new Android devices, including some Honeycomb tablets, were added to the expanding list thanks to the recent update to Skype 2.5. Toshiba Announces its Newest Tablet the Thrive 7″, Headed to Consumers in December

Soon to be joining the expanding 7-inch tablet market, Toshiba announced its latest tablet to be joining the smaller slab ranks this December. Officially named the Toshiba Thrive 7″, the tablet will run Android 3.2 while powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual processor. Samsung Commits to Shipping Out the Galaxy Tab 8.9, In Stores October 2nd

Today at an event, Samsung pledged their commitment in shipping out the Galaxy Tab 8.9 to retailers by the first week of October. The device which is currently up for pre-order through Best Buy, now has Samsung’s promise that it will be in store by October 2nd. Samsung designed the Galaxy Tab 8.9 to better align itself as a stiff competitor for Apple’s iPad 2 as both devices are measured at just 8.6mm thick. LG Optimus EX With 1.2GHz Tegra 2 Launches in Korea, Promised to Hit the States

LG Mobile unveiled its Optimus EX in Korea today as the predecessor to the original Optimus 2X as a way to start the week off. The Optimus EX is one of the first smartphones to ship with NVIDIA’s upgraded 1.2GHz Tegra 2 chip which enables the smartphone to shoot video in 1080p, where the Optimus 2X only shot in 720p.  Additional device highlights include an ultra bright 700-nit IPS based 4-inch LCD display, Wi-Fi direct support, five megapixel rear facing camera, aVGA front facing camera and 8GB of internal storage. Samsung Hits Milestone, 10 Million Galaxy S II Smartphones Sold Across the Globe

In a recent press release, Samsung proudly announced they reached a milestone by selling 10 million Galaxy S II smartphones globally. While not quite beating out Apple’s iPhone numbers (which sold 20 million units in Q2 alone) we still applaud Samsung for hitting their goals with the popular device so quickly. Leaked Image of the Motorola Xoom 2 Tablet Spotted in the Wild

After the Motorola Xoom 2 was spotted in the wild by Droid-Life, it appears it leaves a lot left to be desired still. From the leaked image, the predecessor still looks like the original Xoom tablet without any significant design changes. The only difference we could spy were the cut-off corners and a revamped “HD” camera layout. The model, codenamed MZ617, hasn’t gotten any lighter and is still as heavy as the original Xoom.
