AT&T announced today that they will be adding three additional BlackBerry handsets to their device lineup. The US carrier decided it will feature the Bold 9900 for $200 on November 6th. The smartphone features a 2.8-inch, 640×480 touchscreen, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon chip, and 720p video, in addition to a larger keyboard. If $200 is a little high for your budget, AT&T plans to launch the Torch 9860 on the same day. Thanks to a group of dedicated developers, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) has now been ported to the Samsung Galaxy S. When we first heard that the Nexus S had ICS ported over, we knew it was merely a matter of time before the Galaxy S got the same treatment.  The SDK is currently in a “very-alpha” stage, which implies that not everything is fully functional. As to be expected not everything will be optimized for the hardware that its running on which results in lag time and crashes. In the days leading up to a device’s speculated release, last minute leaks are not surprising. However, what is surprising is that an actual ad for the  HTC Rezound made its way into Verizon stores ahead of an official launch.  The featured 4G device is labeled front and center and gracefully sports a pair of Beats by Dre earbuds, red softkeys, and the face all tweens love- Joe Jonas.  If anyone doubted that HTC was going to unveil the forthcoming Rezound handset this week, this pretty much seals the deal. Barnes & Noble is now speculated to launch the successor to its Nook Color Android tablet on November 7th. According to sources at The Digital Reader, the company is already prepping an entire new “Nook” department inside its retail stores. The “Nook” department will convienently house LED TVs and point-of-sale systems for shoppers interested in buying the new eReader on the spot. Official specs still remain unknown for the new Nook Color, but we’re willing to bet the device will come equipped with Android, and will most likely look similar in design to the original 7-inch Nook Color. For anyone who was patiently waiting to get a taste of Microsoft’s sweet Mango upgrade, then this is the news you’ve probably been looking for. Microsoft announced yesterday in a blog post that Windows Phone 7.5, aka ‘Mango’ would be released to every phone, regardless of carrier. Before you get too excited, there are three phones, including the Samsung Omnia 7, Dell Venue Pro and Samsung Focus, which will not be receiving the Mango update just yet. During the current Nokia World conference going on now in London, Microsoft and Nokia have announced a new program aimed directly at developers. The two companies have joined forces with the shared goal of enticing developers to write apps specifically for Windows Phone handsets. Starting today, the companies hope to give out 25K Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone devices to developers. Ultimately, the two companies hope to widen the Windows Phone consumer base by having a broader app base for consumers to choose from. Thanks to some clear images obtained by Droid-Life, we can now see what Motorola has in store for us in the form of the Droid 4. The images illustrate what appears to be an ultra-thin handset with a similar curved corner design as the recently unveiled RAZR. The device’s back design is also reminiscent of the Droid Bionic.  From what we can gauge from the pictures, the Droid 4 looks to be a 4G LTE device with LapDock 100 and 500 compatibility. Additional specs appear to include a 4-inch display, full five row illuminated keyboard, 1080p HD video capture, HDMI out, and a front-facing camera. Unfortunately, no signs of Ice Cream

Good news for anyone who was waiting around for the LG DoublePlay, as the handset is coming to T-Mobile much sooner than expected. According to an official LG tweet, the dual screen smartphone is available immediately from T-Mobile. The early release coming as a surprise, as earlier leaks had the launch date slated for November 2nd. Spec highlights for the LG DoublePlay include a main 3.5-inch display, and a secondary 2.5 inch screen that is situated between a split QWERTY keyboard. According to Forbes, Microsoft is now set to roll out its Tango video calling service for the Windows Phone operating system. Today Sprint released an over-the-air update for numerous HTC smartphones in an attempt to fix a confirmed security issue. The following HTC smartphones including the HTC EVO 4G, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Shift 4G, HTC EVO Design 4G, HTC EVO View 4G and HTC Wildfire S are all slated to receive the update this evening. Sprint worked alongside HTC after several users reported the security issue that has the potential to allow malicious third-party apps to compromise data on Android devices manufactured by HTC. Sprint does advise any HTC users affected should update their devices as soon as possible.
