Thanks to a unique contest hosted by Capcom and LG, one of the most infamous games, Street Fighter IV HD, is headed to the Android platform in 2012. The contest will use AT&T’s LG Nitro HD here in the USA and the LG Optimus LTE in Japan and Korea, and will be structured like a fighting tournament. Steve Jobs Honored With Grammy For His Music Industry Contributions

There is little arguement surrounding the impact Steve Jobs and his work with Apple’s iTunes has had in the music industry. So it seems appropriate that the Recording Academy has decided to honor this by recognizing the former CEO and Apple co-founder for a Trustees Award for “outstanding contributions to the industry in a non-performing capacity.” This award marks the second Grammy to celebrate Apple’s significant impression in the music world. Pre 3 Owners Surprised By webOS 2.2.4 Update, Fixes Minor Bugs

Despite the uncertain future of the currently open sourced webOS mobile platform, some very excited Pre 3 owners were greeted by an update today addressing some minor bugs. While the update for the Pre 3 doesn’t provide drastic new features, it does provide some much needed software improvements and solutions to minor annoyances. Cricket LTE Launches In Tucson, Huawei Boltz Receives Official Unveiling

Leap Wireless (Cricket) promised the public that Tucson would see LTE service before the end of the year, and it looks like the company has stayed true to their promises. Hoping to be a true prepaid wireless contender against the big dogs like Metro PCS, Cricket has introduced its first 4G demographic with just days left in the 2011 calendar. Cricket’s LTE coverage will support at least 90 percent of Tucson, and nearby Nogales, AZ will see 4G expansion sometime early next year. Microsoft Releases New UFC and Vudu Apps for Xbox 360

Alongside Xbox 360’s revamped dashboard, Microsoft has announced that it has added eight new channels to the Xbox Live TV service in North America and various European countries. Highlights include Walmart’s VUDU video streaming service and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) content for US and Canada users. Additionally, international users can now look forward to content like 4 on Demand and Demand 5 for the United Kingdom, ABC iView for Australia, M6 and MSN Video for France, and Dailymotion in 34 different countries spread across the world. ITC Issues Initial Ruling Finding Motorola Infringes On Microsoft Patent, Motorola Views Ruling As A Reason To Celebrate

The holiday season hasn’t slowed down the International Trade Commission (ITC), as they have been busier than ever this year. Shortly after a final ruling in the HTC vs. Apple patent case, an ITC judge  has made an initial ruling in a case concerning Motorola and Microsoft. The judge ruled that Motorola has infringed on four claims of Microsoft patent number 6,370,566. The patent in question relates to “generating meeting requests and group scheduling from a mobile device”. ITC Rules In Favor of Apple: HTC Infringes on Apple Patent and Devices Are Subject to Ban in April

The ITC (International Trade Commission) has ruled in Apple’s favor by deciding that HTC indeed infringes on one of Apple’s patents. Now HTC could possibly face a ban on their products starting April 2012 here in the U.S. The specific Apple patent in question relates to formatted data that can be interacted with, such as a phone number or a date in an email. Essentially, if you tap on a phone number through Gmail and it performs an action, you just infringed on an Apple patent. AT&T Officially Gives Up On T-Mobile Acquisition

Announced in an official press release today, AT&T has officially abandoned their plans to acquire T-Mobile. The failed attempt at merging with T-Mobile will cost AT&T in upwards of $4 billion, and the wireless giant is not happy about it either. AT&T blames the FCC and the DoJ for standing in their way, after both agencies came down hard on the controversial deal. HTC Thunderbolt Receives Much Needed Update: Addresses Several Minor Bugs

For anyone still rocking the HTC Thunderbolt, this is your lucky day as a much needed update is finally available to squash some of those annoying bugs you’ve been dealing with. Update 2.11.605.9 brings Thunderbolt users improvements on the contact ringtone, notification volume, and local streaming playback. Users will also notice enhancements made to Exchange ActiveSync.
