Barnes and Noble Releases iOS, Android, Nook, and Roku Apps For Nook Video Service

Barnes & Noble  has confirmed the release of iOS, Android, Nook, and Roku apps for its Nook Video service. The series of apps will enable users to watch movies and TV shows that they’ve rented or purchased from the service. Users are also able to watch any items their UltraViolet collection. Videos can also be downloaded for offline viewing. The release of these mobile apps allows Barnes & Noble to better compete with Netflix, Redbox, and more importantly, Amazon. Barnes & Noble plans to heavily push their video services at shoppers of their existing online stores, while suggesting users watch the video through their tablets. Source

New Sony Xperia SP Update Provides Expanded Notification Panel and Transparent UI

A new firmware update is now available for  Sony Xperia SP (C530X) users. Build version 12.0.A.2.245 is rolling out to HSPA+ (C5302) and LTE (C5303) handsets now. Thanks to a recently leaked press rendering it appears as though the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is headed straight to AT&T. The image provided by @evleaks shows off the navy blue plaid device with AT&T’s logo near the rear-facing camera. In addition to the logo, we also know that this particular model, the SGH-I527 Melius, comes equipped with Ma Bell-compatible LTE connectivity. In an unexpected move the team over at Cupertino released iOS 7 beta 6 as an OTA update. This release caught most people off guard, as Apple typically releases new iOS betas to developers on Monday mornings.
