Fresh up from the rumorville, Sharp is allegedly ready to start production on new screens for Apple’s next generation iPhone. According to Nikkan Kogyo, a Japanese business publication, the display manufacturer will start production on LCD panels for the next iPhone in its Kameyama plant beginning this June. As with all rumors we’re missing the fine details like   specifics about size and resolution differences from the current iPhone 5. Nokia CEO Confirms Budget Friendly Phones On the Way, Plans to Introduce New Asha Devices Soon

Nokia CEO Stephen Elop announced a recent investors meeting that the company was gearing up to release new affordable devices in the form of Asha phones. Elop was quoted saying: “We are continuing to renew our portfolio, which includes plans to announce innovation and new products in the Asha line in the days immediately ahead.” The Asha phones are aimed at consumers conscious of their budget and can usually be found with price tags under $100 off-contract. Ashas are mainly known for their QWERTY keyboards, but recent images obtained by @evleaks (shown above) indicate that touchscreen models are in the future. Source

Viber Releases Biggest Update to Service Yet, Unveils Viber Desktop

Viber has announced today that their service will be receiving the “biggest update to the service yet”. Viber for Android and iOS applications have both been on the receiving end of a pretty meaningful refresh, following the recent introduction of VoIP calling on older versions of BlackBerry OS. AT&T Announces Samsung Galaxy S4 32GB Coming May 10th, $249 On Contract

AT&T has confirmed that a 32-gigabyte version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be up for grabs beginning May 10th. The device is priced at $249 on-contract, while the 16GB model is priced at $199. Hopefully, the 32GB model should address buyers’ concerns about the smartphone’s available storage The 16GB model only left approximately 9GB of storage available to the user. CyanogenMod 10.1 Now Available for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S 4

CyanogenMod founder Steve Kondikhas confirmed that CyanogenMod 10.1 is ready for T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S 4 and that other variants (I9505 etc) will follow as and when hardware is sourced. According to Kondik the port is complete enough to provide all core features, including, at some point, support for Android’s hover events. HTC Leaks Out Two New Android 4.3 Features: Bluetooth Low Energy and Open GL ES 3.0

HTC plans to host a meet up event on Thursday, May 16th, and will explain two Android 4.3 features that users can look forward too. These two features are Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Open GL ES 3.0. Bluetooth Low Energy is aimed at “always on devices.” There are some devices that have supported this through their own Bluetooth stack, but now it will be officially in the new Android version.
