Paranoid Android’s Halo Multi-Tasking Goes Open Source

We were first introduced to Paranoid Android’s in-app pop-up window multitasking a few months ago, and now it appears that the team is ready to release the final product. The feature, dubbed HALO, combines the concept behind Samsung’s Multi Window and FaceBook’s Chat Heads into one sleek multi tasking interface. The feature is activated from the notification tray, and places an icon (or halo) on the display. After months of rumors and teasers Tim Cook has finally unveiled the latest upgrade to Apple’s mobile operating system. AT&T First Carrier to Offer Enhanced Push-to-Talk for iPhone with Wi-Fi Calling

AT&T has just released a version of Enhanced Push-to-Talk for Apple’s platform, letting employees with an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5 communicate instantly with large groups. Former Yahoo employee and current co-founder of Product Club, Tom Coates hacked his own house in San Francisco in order to remotely monitor it via Twitter. Leaked Court Documents Reveal Verizon Providing the NSA Call Log Data in Bulk

The Guardian has leaked a court document reveals the National Security Agency (NSA) is currently collecting bulk call records from Verizon. The request, granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on April 25th, extends until July 19th and mandates Verizon produce all call detail records on a daily basis to the NSA. NVIDIA Unveils New “DirectStylus” Capabilities for Tegra 4 Tablets

Nvidia’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang took to this week’s Computex to show off its latest tech. The company has developed a software-based pressure sensitive display that uses a normal non-digitizer stylus to draw on a device. The result: Users can write on the screen using a simple passive pen and its opposite end can be used like an eraser, whose unique touch pattern can be differentiated from drawing strokes. The science behind the tech centers in Nvidia’s Prism display, originally introduced with the Tegra 3.
