How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the ZTE Force 4G LTE
Have a rooted ZTE Force 4G LTE smartphone? Wish if you could enjoy some of the best custom ROMs available for your device? No problem, this guide should help you do that. Before you can flash ROMs on your device, you’re gonna need a custom recovery that allows third-party zips to be flashed on the device. Fortunately a custom recovery’s available for the ZTE Force 4G LTE smartphone and the guide below explains how you can install it on your device. So go ahead and get your device equipped with a recovery!
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the ZTE Force 4G LTE procedure first, finish it, then come back to this one and continue.
2. Make sure your device has at least 60% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Touch Recovery (Download link’s given in the first post)
2. Terminal Emulator — QR Code (Google Play Link)
III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the ZTE Force 4G LTE:
1. Download and place the Touch Recovery archive on your Desktop.
2. Unzip files from the archive over to your Desktop.
3. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
4. Copy the recovery.img file you extracted from the archive over to the root of your SD card.
5. Once the file’s been copied, disconnect your device from your PC.
6. Head over to the Google Play and download and install the Terminal Emulator app on your device.
7. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
8. Type in following commands into the app:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery
9. You should now be in the newly installed recovery mode.
10. You’re all set!
